The secret to achieving your fitness goals? It's in your head!

How motivated are you to go to the gym tonight, or tomorrow? How about for the next year? At some point that motivation is going to run dry… Look at where you are right now in your life. Think to yourself "How did I get here? What barriers did I have to overcome?" I can assure you, you had to work, and you had to set goals, plan and grind. If you pushed through and made it out the other side, you already have the tools you need to reach your fitness goals. Whether it’s to lose weight, run farther, or lift more, all you need is a little willpower and the determination!

Establish Goals and a Routine

One of the most important things you need, are goals. You need daily goals, monthly goals, and yearly goals. And then to achieve them you must apply determination, discipline, and consistency. It's not just an "every other day plan". If you are serious about seeing results, then you need to commit to a routine. Schedule your workouts and plan your meals and find a way to hold yourself accountable.

Go Beyond Comfort

Getting yourself to a fitness class or a personal training session is one thing, but the next thing is to give it your all once you're there! There's no point in dragging your butt out from your cozy house unless you're willing to push that butt to the limit once you get there. If folks workout within their comfort zone, they will often see little to no results and quit, thinking it doesn’t work. It's all about pushing past that point of comfort - that's where the magic happens! Be motivated by those around you - whether it's a personal trainer, a partner to work out with, or a group class environment, feed off of the energy and push yourself to the limit!

Make it a Priority

This is what it all boils down to. If you manage to squeeze in one or two workouts a week you're probably not going to be all that impressed with your results. Aim to work out 3 - 5 times a week and move your body every day. Make it your new lifestyle. Make it a priority! Other things will always come up, but if your workout is important enough to you, you will do everything in your power to make it happen. Remember you're doing this to benefit yourself, so find something that you enjoy, look forward to your workouts, and be present for every moment while you're there.
